Recall Together Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
1. Information stored on your device
You can use Recall Together without creating an account. Texts you save, practice results, progress stages, resume positions, and review schedules are stored in the app's on-device database. Your interface language, text size, reading speed, and online voice processing choice are kept in device settings storage. We do not send this information to a server operated by the developer or pass it to the ads SDK. We do not use a separate analytics tool.
2. Voice features and your choices
Online voice processing is off by default. On Android, we use only voices confirmed not to require a network connection for reading aloud. On iOS, the app reads aloud on your device using Apple voices provided by the device. If you do not allow online processing, voice recognition does not start on either Android or iOS; the app switches to manual checking. If your device or language does not support a voice feature, you can practice by viewing the original text without voice.
If you allow online voice processing in Settings, the text to be read aloud and the speech you give through the microphone may be sent to and processed by the operating system or voice service provider selected on your device. The provider depends on your device settings, and that provider's privacy policy applies. Before starting voice recognition, we show a notice and check microphone permission. You can still practice with manual checking if you do not consent. Do not use online voice processing for texts containing sensitive personal information.
The app does not permanently store audio recordings or complete transcripts recognized during practice, or send them to its own server. Practice recognition results appear briefly on screen. Saved practice records include success, hint use, and progress position. If you save dictated words as your own text in the editor, that text is stored on your device like text entered with the keyboard. A voice service provider's processing and retention are separate from the app's local storage.
3. Ads and privacy choices
Google AdMob banner ads may appear on the Home and Library screens. Ads do not appear in Practice, Editor, History, or Settings. Ad requests are configured as non-personalized. Before initializing the ads SDK or requesting ads, the app checks any required consent through Google UMP and offers a privacy options entry when required. The online voice processing switch does not control ad data processing.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share with Google IP addresses (which may indicate approximate location), device and app identifiers, ad and app interactions, and diagnostic information such as crash and performance data for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Non-personalized ads do not mean that no data or identifiers are used. The app does not request iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. Texts and practice records stored by the user are not passed to the ads SDK. See Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) for details.
4. Permissions
Microphone permission is used when you choose voice recognition. You can revoke it at any time in your device's app permission settings. Internet permission is needed for online voice features you allow and for ads. The app does not request access to contacts, location, or photos, but the ads SDK may infer approximate location from an IP address.
5. Retention and deletion
Texts and practice records remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. The Delete records and my texts feature in app settings deletes your texts and related practice records. Built-in works are loaded again, and interface and voice settings remain. You can delete the app's stored information on that device by clearing its app data or removing the app. The app has no cloud sync feature of its own. Retention through operating system features, such as iOS device backups, follows your device's backup settings and the operating system provider's policy.
6. Contact and changes
For privacy questions, contact [email protected] (Recall Together development team). If our processing changes, we will update both the policy in the app and the public policy linked from the store.
